石工職人だった祖父、私が石屋になった頃に道具を受け継ぎ「この道具を使って何か作れないか？」と考え、そんな時この技法に出合いました。日本国内の職人が存在しない中 独学で始め、十数年の歳月をかけ独自に技法を習得、現在に至ります。

Commitment to hand carving

My grandfather, who was a stonemason, inherited the tools when I became a stonemason and thought, “Can I make something using these tools ? ” That’s when I came across this technique. While there were no craftsmen in Japan, I started learning this technique on my own and spend more than ten years mastering it independently.
